WATERFOWL HUNT

Species and Limits
This hunt will focus on ducks, mergansers, and geese. Swans and sandhill cranes are not included. Common species include mallard, northern pintail, blue-winged teal, green-winged teal, wood duck, redhead, canvasback, lesser scaup, ring-necked duck, common, red-breasted, and hooded mergansers, as well as Canada goose, lesser and greater snow goose, Ross’s goose, and white-fronted goose.

Under Nebraska Tier I, the daily bag limit is 6 ducks, including mergansers, which may contain no more than 5 mallards, of which no more than 2 may be hens, 3 wood ducks, 2 redheads, 3 pintails, 2 canvasbacks, and 1 scaup. Possession limits may not exceed three times the daily bag limit.

Under Nebraska Tier II, the daily bag limit is 3 ducks, including mergansers, of any species and either sex. Duck hunters select Tier I or Tier II during Harvest Information Program registration and are bound to that tier for the entire season.

The daily dark goose limit is 5, with a possession limit of 15. The daily white-fronted goose limit is 2, with a possession limit of 6 when the season is open. The regular-season daily light goose limit is 50, including snow, blue, and Ross’s geese, with no possession limit. Goose availability will depend on the species, applicable goose unit, and hunt dates.

Location
This hunt will take place on various privately leased properties within Nebraska Waterfowl Zone 1. Exact hunting locations may vary depending on bird movement, weather, water conditions, and the properties available during the selected hunt dates.

Hunt Type
Fully guided waterfowl hunts are conducted over open fields, local waterways, and wetlands. Hunts may take place during the morning, afternoon, or over the course of the day depending on bird activity and current conditions.

Success Ratio
Daily limits are often achieved within a full day’s hunt. However, as with any migratory bird hunt, results depend on weather, migration patterns, bird movement, field conditions, and shooting opportunities.

Price
$2,650 per person for a 3-Day Fully Guided Waterfowl Hunt.

Price Includes:
Meals, lodging, professional guides, private land leases, and round-trip transportation to designated hunting areas.

Price Does Not Include:
Applicable taxes, airfare, transportation to and from camp, hunting licenses and stamps, taxidermy fees, alcoholic beverages, gratuities, personal expenses, optional activities, or lodging and meal costs before arrival or after departure.

Gratuities
Our team works hard to ensure your experience is as good as it can be from start to finish. When the smoke clears, and provided it is warranted, a tip for your guide and cook will be greatly appreciated. The amount is at your discretion, but a good rule of thumb is 10% to 20% of the hunt cost for your guide and 5% to 10% of the hunt cost for your cook.

Important Note
Hunters must make a reasonable effort to retrieve any migratory game bird that is killed or crippled. Wounded birds reduced to possession must be immediately killed and included in the daily bag limit.

Waterfowl Seasons
The Nebraska Zone 1 duck and coot season runs from October 24 through December 6, 2026, and December 19, 2026, through January 17, 2027.

Dark goose seasons are set by goose unit. The Platte River and Niobrara units run from October 28 through February 9, and the North Central unit runs from October 3 through January 15.

The statewide white-fronted goose season runs from October 17 through December 27 and January 25 through February 9. The statewide regular light goose season runs from October 3 through December 30 and January 25 through February 9.

Sample Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrive at camp by 3:00 p.m., get settled, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the following day’s hunt.

Days 2 through 4:
Depart with your guide for a fully guided waterfowl hunt. Depending on bird movement and current conditions, the day may include a morning hunt, an afternoon hunt, or a full day’s hunting effort. Your guide will select the property and setup based on weather, bird activity, and field conditions. Return to camp for hearty meals and overnight lodging.

Day 5:
Breakfast and depart for home.

Meals & Accommodations
This hunt will be conducted from a comfortable and fully furnished private lodge located near our hunting areas. The exact property may vary from one trip to another, but the accommodations will provide hunters with a clean, warm, and comfortable place to relax between hunts.

Meals will be provided throughout the scheduled stay. Breakfast will be served before each day’s hunt, lunch will be planned around the day’s hunting schedule, and dinner will be served after returning to camp.

Hunters will need to bring their personal hunting gear and clothing. A recommended packing list will be provided before the hunt.

Transportation
Guests should plan to arrive at camp by 3:00 p.m. on the day before the first scheduled hunt. From camp, we will provide transportation to and from the field for the duration of your stay.

Terrain
Hunts may take place over open agricultural fields, native or managed grasslands, local rivers and waterways, shallow wetlands, marshes, and backwaters.

Field hunts will generally focus on birds traveling between feeding and resting areas. Water hunts may take place along larger waterways, smaller bodies of water, or shallow wetlands and backwaters. The selected location and setup will depend on the time of year, bird movement, available water, weather, and field conditions.

Nebraska Zone 1 contains extensive river, wetland, grassland, and agricultural habitat used by waterfowl and other migratory birds.

Most hunting locations should be reasonably accessible, but hunters should be prepared to walk over uneven agricultural ground and may encounter mud, wet vegetation, snow, ice, or frozen ground.

Typical Weather Conditions
Temperatures can fluctuate drastically, ranging from the teens to 80 degrees, with the possibility of rain or snow. Being prepared for various weather conditions is a must. We will provide you with a recommended gear list once you’ve booked your hunt.

Licensing Details
Regular Nebraska waterfowl permits and stamps are available without a special drawing. Every hunter is responsible for purchasing and carrying the proper permits, stamps, and Harvest Information Program number before hunting.

All nonresident waterfowl hunters, regardless of age, must register with the Nebraska Harvest Information Program before hunting. During HIP registration, hunters planning to hunt ducks will be asked to select either the Tier I or Tier II duck bag limit. Hunters will be bound to the selected bag limit for the entire season.

A Federal Duck Stamp is required for waterfowl hunters ages 16 and older. The Federal Duck Stamp is available as a legal electronic stamp. Hunters who purchase an Electronic Federal Duck Stamp will be mailed a physical stamp after March 10, 2027.

Hunters ages 12 through 29 must have proof of successful completion of firearm Hunter Education in their possession while hunting with a firearm or air gun. Hunters in this age group who have not completed Hunter Education may obtain an Apprentice Hunter Education Exemption Certificate. Hunters using an Apprentice Hunter Education Exemption Certificate must be accompanied by a licensed person age 19 or older. Firearm hunters ages 11 or younger must also be accompanied by a licensed person age 19 or older.

Regulations
License fees, permit requirements, season dates, legal species, shooting hours, daily limits, possession limits, and other regulations may change from year to year. Every hunter is responsible for reviewing the latest Nebraska Small Game and Waterfowl Guide published by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission before the hunt.

The latest Nebraska Small Game and Waterfowl Guide, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission regulations and orders, and applicable federal regulations will be considered the final authority for current laws, licenses, stamps, permits, season dates, shooting hours, daily bag limits, possession limits, legal methods of take, ammunition requirements, bird identification, transportation requirements, and all other applicable regulations.

Processing
Charge Adventures will assist with cleaning and preparing harvested birds for lawful transportation home.

The head or one fully feathered wing must remain attached to each bird while it is being transported from the place where it was taken until it reaches the hunter’s personal residence or a migratory bird preservation facility.

Birds left with another person for cleaning, storage, transportation, shipment, or taxidermy must be properly tagged with the hunter’s signature, address, the number and species of birds, and the dates the birds were harvested.

Taxidermy and processing fees are the client’s responsibility.

Optional Activities
Fishing and upland bird hunting may be available depending on the season, weather, access, local conditions, and time available. Potential upland bird opportunities may include pheasant, quail, partridge, and prairie grouse.

Optional activities are not guaranteed and must be arranged in advance. Separate licenses, guides, transportation, access fees, or additional charges may be required.

Deposits
A 50% non-refundable deposit must be paid to reserve your space. Final payments are due 60 days before the hunt start date.
